"Oh That's Looks SO Katy Perry" (Current Event)

http://www.tv.com/celebrity-style-profile-katy-perry/webnews/176043.html
Event: (October 21, 2010) In this article, we find that the one of our fashion stars Katy Perry, is really just wearing who she is, not trying to follow the trends. This article tells us that Katy has a bold, unique and playful personality. Even her humor plays a role in her fashion choices. She is interested in the decades of the 40's and the 60's, even the roaring 20's. She loves the pin-up girl style, vintage clothing, and bright colors. She wears what she wants, and doesn't seem to care what anyone has to say about it. Katy said that "her transformation as a performing artist began first with fashion after she saw Dominique Swain's portrayal in Lolita." She is one of the only artist that can transform from the All-American gospel singer to a punk rock glam star who sings "I kissed a girl, and I liked it" and get away with it, not to mention have a fashion world trying to step into her shoes, literally. This article tells us that she is a fashion icon that woman follow, and always ahead of the trends, from her watermelon fruit love, to her electric blue wig, Katy Perry is unstoppable.
Response: People love Katy Perry, not just her music and fashion, but just her personality point blank. They like her because she's different, and she's not afraid to be. What we need to realize is she's literally wearing her personality. Her personality and interests is portrayed the same way in her fashion. From her bright red lipstick, and jet black hair, to her vintage love, there's no way she could hide her inner edginess. Katy Perry isn't afraid to hide who she is, and this makes her fashion become more alive. She's not a held back version of something we see on the runway like a lot of trendsters, she finds something that belongs on a runway, makes it her own, and then flaunts it from red carpet to the dentist. We wonder why everyone is following her fashion, but it's because fashion is HER. When you don't hold back, and make it your own, you're creating fashion, don't let fashion create you.

Gucci has love for the Lopez Kids

Event: (October 19, 2010) Jennifer Lopez's kids Max and Emme (both are 2 years of age), are now modeling for the new Gucci children fashion line along with Mark Anthony and Jennifer herself. Lopez and her sister Lynda are the founders of the Maribel Foundation (a organization that provides woman and children a better healthcare plan.) Since they are the founders, Gucci will be making a donation to their organization. This photoshoot was shot in July, on the beach in Malibu, one big happy family should be the title.
response: I think it's fantastic that Gucci is donating to Jennifer's charity, and at the same time we get to see her darling kids in our Gucci advertisements. It was a win-win situation. It's good to see that Gucci is providing more that just great fashion for our woman, but supporting woman's healthcare as well. I personally love Lopez, and the fact that she's done singing, acting, and modeling, and keeps coming back into the spotlight, shows how completely timeless she is. Maybe her children have just as bright of a future ahead of them. Gucci at the age of two sounds like a big success to me.

Steve Madden Bails Out Miss Betsey Johnson

Event- On October 8th, we found our very own fashion extraordinare Betsey Johnson in a financial crisis. Luckily, one of her partners Steve Madden (famous for his glamorous shoes) was there to bail out her failed 48.8 million loan she was expecting by September. Instead of being in debt of Madden, he ended up taking over her entire business. Betsey will still be designing what she wants, and Madden has made clear that she isn't "on the hook" for anything. Everyone loves a hero, especially one with good fashion sense.
New York's shoe lovers are about to become very happy, as Steve Madden is on the the break of huge expansion. Since he has took our lovely Betsey under his wings, he will be making footwear 30 percent of the yearly sales. Madden will be making more money (100 million more), and with that, he will be making more Madden magic! Six years ago the same Steve Madden was in prison for his poor handling of the green paper we all know and love, and look at him now, a great turnover from the past.
Personally- I think that any way to keep the divine Betsey Johnson from going under is greatly appreciated by all. Everyone has issues with money from time to time, and I think this was a perfect solution to her unsolved equation. I think that we will be seeing bigger and better things from Steven Madden as he starts to expand his company. Madden found himself one great shot to success, and after his trip behind the bars, I think we can trust he'll do it right this time. I'm excited to see what comes next from both Betsey and Madden, and am very impressed by Maddens kind gesture. I guess the lesson learned is keep your enemies close, and keep your partners closer, you never know if they could end up running your company.
